Download the app and create an account

In order to use Snapchat you'll need to download the app, create an account and have a snap ready to go. Follow these steps below: 

1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play store 2. Create your account by entering your birthdate and email address. You can also add your username and password if you want more privacy. 3.

Take a picture or video

Add filters, effects, and other enhancements

The next step is to add filters and effects. Snap needs a filter to give you the feeling of what it's like to be in a crowded city, or you can use filters that make your face look like an animal. You can also add text, drawings, stickers and emojis. To access these features, tap on the icons in the top right corner of your screen. You'll see Emoji, Stickers, Text and Drawing tools there.

Send your Snap!

1) Take your first Snap by pressing the circular button on the bottom of your screen. The timer will start counting down from 10 seconds. 2) Add a caption to your Snap by tapping the text field on the top right of your screen, typing in what you want to say and then pressing send! 3) Tap on other people's Snaps (just like you would with any other photo) to view them and swipe up if you want to send them a personal message or add them as friends.
